At the heart of the Elegant FS24 switch is a proven infrared sensor chip from Sharp. The sensor emits a safe light beam invisible to the human eye with a narrow detection angle. This ensures the controller responds only to forward movement (e.g., a person stepping onto the first stair) without interference from side movement in the room.
An optical feedback signal is indicated by a red LED built into the front panel of the controller, facilitating initial setup and ongoing operation checks.
Simple Parameter Adjustment and Customization
On the back of the electronic module, there are two clearly labeled axial potentiometers that can be adjusted using a small flathead screwdriver:
- Distance Adjustment (DISTANCE): Allows precise setting of the detection range from 35 cm to approximately 140 cm. Turning clockwise increases sensitivity, while turning counterclockwise shortens the detection range.
- Time Adjustment (TIME): Allows setting the light delay duration after motion detection in the range of 5 to 90 seconds. This provides flexibility—from brief stair illumination to longer corridor lighting.

The FS24 proximity switch is designed to work with single-color LED strips (MONO), modules, and stair luminaires operating at a standard 12V - 24V DC voltage. Thanks to stable screw terminal connectors (U+, U-, LED+, LED-), connecting the switching power supply and the load is fast and secure. The controller also works seamlessly with external LED signal amplifiers, enabling control over high-power lighting over long distances.
