Curved sections soften the layout and help connect the lighting design with the furniture and architecture of a room. They complement rounded sofas, curved kitchen islands and arched doorways. The track can follow these shapes discreetly or become a distinctive decorative feature.
- A cohesive layout: straight sections and rounded corners create a considered design across the surface.
- Visual zoning: the track arrangement can help define a dining area, seating zone or display space.
- Flexible lighting: compatible modules allow you to combine general illumination with accent lighting.
- Surface mounting: profiles attach directly to the surface without being recessed into the ceiling. Cabling and the power supply location still need to be planned.
It is useful to distinguish between the shape of the track and the lighting effect. A curved track section is not a luminaire, and a curved layout does not automatically create a continuous line of light. The result depends on the position of the luminaires, their optics and the direction of illumination.

FIVETRACK is a 48V track lighting system with a narrow 5 mm slot. Its compact form suits homes and interiors where the lighting infrastructure should remain visually discreet. Tracks and ARC curved sections are available in white and black.
FIVETRACK on the Ceiling: Oval Layouts and Rounded Corners
Surface-mounted ARC quarter-curve sections allow you to create oval layouts and connect straight tracks with gentle changes of direction. One design idea is an elongated oval above a dining table: the straight sides provide positions for the luminaires, while the curves complete the outline. A similar arrangement in a living room can follow the shape of the seating area.
These are design concepts whose dimensions must be adapted to the available components. Start by deciding where light is needed, then plan the track layout. Above a worktop, focus on illuminating the working surface; beside a sofa, consider visual comfort; and near a painting, make sure the light can be directed towards the artwork.
FIVETRACK on Walls and Across Ceiling-to-Wall Transitions
The system also supports wall-mounted layouts. You can create a composition above a console table or extend a ceiling arrangement towards a decorative wall area. Changing between surfaces requires the appropriate ARC component: a flat curve and a ceiling-to-wall transition serve different purposes. An ARC section requires an additional FIVETRACK flexible electrical connector.
When planning a wall installation, consider the direction of the light and the position of the luminaires relative to eye level. Check the permitted mounting positions for the selected system component rather than assuming every luminaire can also be fitted to a curved section.
LUCES NL MINIMAL 11 mm – Curves for Architectural Lighting Layouts
LUCES NL MINIMAL is a 48V track lighting system in the 11 mm format. The range includes surface-mounted profiles, curved sections and various LED modules. Curves create flowing connections between straight tracks on a ceiling or wall. White and black options are available within the collection, although the colour selection depends on the specific curved section.
Rounded Ceiling Layouts and Decorative Wall Arrangements
In a dining room, straight tracks connected by curves can form an outline above the table. In a spacious living room, a rounded corner can visually connect two parts of the installation. On a wall, it offers an alternative to a conventional arrangement of individual wall lights. Such a composition can complement a photo gallery, sideboard or fitted furniture.
Luminaires cannot be mounted on LUCES NL MINIMAL curved sections. These components guide and connect the track, while the lights must be positioned on suitable straight sections. The layout therefore needs to leave enough space for the luminaires. A closed outline made entirely from curved sections will not provide mounting positions for these lights.
Ceiling-to-Wall Connections and Lighting Control
A ceiling-to-wall transition can be made using a dedicated mechanical ceiling-to-wall connector together with a flexible electrical connector. This is a separate solution from curved sections laid flat on a single surface. If you want DALI dimming, select compatible tracks, luminaires, power supplies and control components. A 48V track alone does not provide this function.
White or Black Curved Tracks?
White track lighting creates a more discreet effect against a light ceiling and pairs well with wood and pale fabrics. Black curved tracks emphasise the outline of the installation, echoing dark window frames, handles or metal furniture. For wall-mounted arrangements, consider the colour against the paint and furnishings: the composition will remain visible even when the lights are switched off.
How to Plan a Curved Track Lighting Layout
- Mark the furniture, areas requiring light and proposed track routes on the ceiling and walls.
- Choose one system and check the geometry of its curved sections, connection methods and permitted luminaire positions.
- Select luminaires by light output, beam angle and colour temperature as well as appearance.
- Plan the 48V power supply, maintenance access, power feeds and complete set of connectors.
- Check the load limits, permitted track lengths and mounting requirements for the chosen configuration.

Do Surface-Mounted Tracks Require a Suspended Ceiling?
No. They attach to the ceiling surface, but the fixings must suit the substrate and the electrical supply needs to be planned.
Can FIVETRACK Be Connected to LUCES NL MINIMAL?
Do not assume the systems are compatible. Sharing a 48V operating voltage does not make their profiles, connectors or luminaire fittings interchangeable.
Can a Curved Wall Track Replace a Wall Light?
The curved section itself does not emit light. Suitable luminaires, correctly selected and mounted within the track layout, can provide wall lighting.
