Pendant lamps for the kitchen

Pendant lights for the kitchen combine task lighting and decoration in one: they illuminate the countertop, define key zones (island / table), and create an “interior upgrade” effect without a renovation. The key isn’t that the fixture looks nice—it’s that it lights exactly where you work and doesn’t strain your eyes.

Choose in 60 seconds:

  • Over the countertop / island: hang the light so the bottom edge sits about 75–90 cm above the worktop.
  • Above an island: a clean rhythm usually wins—2 larger pendants or 3 slim ones (depending on the island’s length and the shades’ diameter).
  • Color temperature: 3000K as a safe “home premium” choice; 4000K when work precision is the priority.
  • Visual comfort: avoid a visible point light source in your direct line of sight—choose shades/solutions that reduce glare.
  • Layering: a pendant should support the kitchen, but it won’t replace good task lighting—the best results come from a layered setup (ambient + task + decorative).
